Trinity Church

Over the break, we went to New York. One of the site's we visited was Trinity church, the church that survivors of the 9/11 incident went to be treated before hospitals could accept them. This was a picture I took with my phone but I liked the leading lines and the colors and everything.

SIX WEEKS PROJECT!!

This is my six weeks project. We were asked to produce five HDR images. I did more just because I really enjoyed finding different things that I thought would be cool once turned into HDR's. I had five different ones, but apparently you cannot take HDR pictures indoors. So these are my "make-up" pictures. I had fun with this project because it was something I'd never done before and it's kind of like guess and check. You take the pictures of what you think will look cool and you really don't know if they look right until you put them in the program. It took quite a few tries but I super liked it.

Baseball Poop

During this game, I got really frustrated. It was getting really dark and cloudy outside and I didn't have a flash so I couldn't keep my shutter speed at the right speed. It sucked and the majority of my pictures sucked too.

Tigervision In Action

I shot Tigervision doing their show up in the theater last week. It was kind of hard  because I had to stand to the side and the only light they had was this one fluorescent spotlight aiming straight at them. It was weird trying to figure out how to get my exposure correct without my shutter speed getting too low.

Charlie Brown

A couple weekends ago I got to shoot the Charlie Brown show our school did and it was a lot of fun. I was using the 5D for the first time and it was really cool getting used to it and everything.

Day 6

So, at 18 I am deathly afraid of the dark. No joke. Don't judge. Anywho, I actually like the one I took of my brother better than my own just because he did a way better job of looking scared than I did. I'm also proud of the lighting I got on both of these. I didn't use a vignette in Lightroom at all. I had my flash set on 1/2 and I thought I'd have to use a snoot, but when I turned all the lights out in my room and angled it on my face, it worked out perfectly. I also wanted to point out that once again I did not have a flash stand. So I got all creative and whatnot. I lugged my ironing board into my room and put a match box and an empty tic-tac box underneath the lens to point it up just a little. College bound thinkin material right here guyz.

Day 1

Today Rushing and I decided to do a 65 Day Project. Between now and Spring Break, we have 65 days. A lot of photographers do a 365 day project where they take a self portrait every day for one whole year. Well Rush and I aren't gonna be together for 365 days (nor while I have access to gear for the next 365 days) so we decided to do 65 days. I'm actually really excited about it! I don't know what I'll end up doing tomorrow because I'll be in the car all day. We'll see.

Day 5

Day 5...Oops, I got caught.
Today Hannah brought us a cake she made and everyone absolutely devoured it, so I decided to use the cake for inspiration. I had an uncovered flash on my background and a soft box to my right. The top one was just me trying to get my settings right because I was originally going to use my whole body but my idea didn't work out the way I planned so I used the second idea instead. I actually really like the way it came out.

Day 3

Once again, I don't have any kind of flash with me so I had to make do with what I did have. I decided that I wanted to advertise the things I normally try to paint over; my crooked glasses, my abnormally small ears, my keebler elf nose, my butt chin, my weird collarbones. I took a covered lamp that sits in my grandma's living room and I directed it to where it just shot the edge of the light across the left side of my face. I wanted to make all of my features more prominent so I made shadows on them. Hopefully soon I can get more creative with this. I've got some fun ideas I wanna work on soon!

P.S. Boo Rushing for slacking on her third day!!!!
